Red Velvet Cake
This red velvet cake is divine. You are going to love it so much, you will want to laminate the recipe!
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups cake flour
3 tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking powder
1tsp. salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbs. red food colouring
1 tsp. white vinegar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
2 large eggs
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F
Sift and combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
Whisk buttermilk, food colouring, vinegar and vanilla in small bowl until blended
On stand mixer combine sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add eggs 1 and a time, beating well between additions
Beat in wet and dry ingredients in additions, alternating between the two.
Bake for 30 min. or until toothpick comes out smooth.
